With us moving in a week, we’ve been reluctant to buy much food. Needless to say, there are no markets here where we live and I started salivating at the thought of fresh avocados on toast.

Can I come over for a bite to eat?

Mmmmm. Mmmmm. Good eatin’! I wish we had decent markets. There’s a Saturday Farmer’s Market downtown but it’s hard to get to, hard to park, and too damn hot outside (except in winter) for the vegetables and fruit to not just insta-wilt.

*jealous* I have to travel into Manhattan to get a decent farmer’s market.

Why don’t we all live in Paris? *sigh* I second the wanting to come over for a bite. Beautiful looking food. Especially the bread.

So delicious. That bread is the real thing. There are worthy places in London too. Paris though was always way ahead of the UK in the food department. I was there as a boy and wow what a contrast of palate that was! I was never the same again.

    Glad your fever’s skedaddled.

Ooooooh! Avocados? Pineapples? Clementines? These are a few of my favorite things! I, too, have crappy prouduce here in Astoria. I have to ravel all the way to Flushing to get the good (and yet, oddly cheaper) stuff.

But upstate in the Summertime! Look out! Produce central.

    That bread looks deeee-vine!

It’s so weird. Produce in the grocery store is absolute crap here, as the demand is for fresh market wares. However, it’s delivered in the same way that produce is to grocery stores in the US – shipped from far away and sent from a central distribution center. To find the good old homespun stuff, like the bread, takes a trained eye and being at the right place at the right time.

I wish I had a large fortune, a large house and staff so I could have a big old vlogger commune. All you need is Wifi…do do dodo do…
