I’ve answered Rupert’s call for NAVLOPOMO participants to show their workspaces. I think the distinctive things about mine are that it’s all portable and can be “hidden”, that it incorporates other activities in main living areas of the apartment and that it’s in Paris.
I could have cleaned up a bit, but I wanted you all to see things in motion as opposed to some sort of sterile “welcome to my home” experience.

One word: JEALOUS
I could use a view like that:)
Holy crap!! What a place!
I’m jealous too.
Great tour
I think we are in agreement on the most important thing - coffee! Loved seeing your little all in one espresso machine. Your place looks great. And let me add my envy to the jealous list.
Nice apartment, nice view, nice tour! Thanks!
Roseanne on DVD? Yes the view, and history. Hard to find in USA living. Plowed over and rebuilt daily.
The view is, indeed, fucking INSANE!! extra-cool to have your work all portable so it can disappear if you want it to. And I learned something new! This is going to make me sound like an ass but I really thought that all languages with a Latin alphabet would have a qwerty keyboard. Duh.
@all y’all – You’re all welcome to visit. Just not at the same time, please.
@Valdez - I’m an eclectic S.O.B., and a social historian by study with a fetish for film depictions of the working class, hence Season 1 of Roseanne.
@missb - In France, they have to do everything differently. Google SECAM.
ps: in my house, the Crown Royal pouch is for Scrabble tiles and the USB cables & whatnots go in a Guggi dustbag. Tres chic.
ha! you did it! how does it feel?
A Room with a View for sure. Very impressed. By the view and the flat.
I like your life in a bag situation. Very much. I must get myself a bag. In fact, I must get myself a life!
It was very neat to be able to see your home in such a frank way. I enjoyed your rambling as we were tossed around through the apartment. Just to say it again, that is a very sweet apartment!
Holy shit!
Great ramble. Thanks for not editing the shit out of it.
I remember all the Americans being freaked out by my British Powerbook keyboard - because shift 2 is @ and it has a long return key. But at least it’s QWERTY. I can’t believe I didn’t know that French keyboards were different. I should have known. Brilliantly, classically French. Probably done to keep French typewriter manufacturers in business. I’ve always assumed that we drive on the left in Britain so that it’d be difficult to sell American cars here, to give our crappy state-funded domestic manufacturers a competitive advantage.
Wait, why am I writing all this in your comments section.
Perhaps to try and take my mind off my envy. Anyway, it’s great to be able to picture where you and everyone else spends their days while we’re all Twittering and watching. Wave hi to Mona Lisa for me.
broken record time: your apartment is amazing. *envy*
i’ve got a laptop bag where i keep cables and such so if i have to have a portable office i don’t have to go “shit, where’s xyz cable i might need?”
glad to see i’m not the only one who likes working on a couch, too.
I just saw this (hard work keeping up with where your site is this week :P) and I have nothing to add to the conversation but: also jealous!
you asked for it.
ryanne and I are visiting you now.
